SNI Certification

SNI Certification (Indonesian National Standard)

SNI is the only standard that applies nationally in Indonesia and the mandatory for certain products in accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations. SNI was formulated by the Technical Committee and stipulated by National Standardization Agency (Badan Standardisasi Nasional [BSN]) of Indonesia. The formulation of SNI itself is based on law in PP No. 102/2000 regarding National Standardization. SNI certification is used for public interest, national security, national economic development and preservation of environmental functions.

Products that fall under the SNI scope must undergo testing and assessment by accredited laboratories to obtain the SNI certification.
The certification is mandatory for products entering the Indonesian market, and non-compliance may result in penalties or restrictions on importing and selling the products.

In Indonesia, there is a single product certification that is valid across the country. SNI is the Indonesian national standard. Standardization for various products produced by Indonesian society, either individually or legally, and various imported products that will be sold in Indonesia. Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 34 tahun 2018 regulates the SNI certificate.
